Objectives:

Students will continue the study of Attic Greek by means of exercises and readings. By the end of the course, students will be able to read short passages from unadapted Greek texts.

Prerequisites:

Greek 022 (formerly Greek 002) or the permission of the department.

Donald Mastronarde, Introduction to Attic Greek (University of California Press, 1993)


Joint Association of Classical Teachers, A Greek Anthology (Cambridge 2002)


Both of the above are available at the Book Store at Western.

Evaluation:

1. 10% Weekly Quizzes
2. 10% Participation and preparation
3. 10% Homework assignments
3. 10% Midterm I (October 26)
4. 10% Midterm II (January 18)
5. 10% Midterm III (March 15)

6. 40% Final Exam
