We are in the process of starting chapters (and recruiting
volunteers!) in the following cities:
Calgary, AB
Kingston, ON
Is your city missing? Start your own CAGIS Chapter!
The Canadian Association for Girls In Science (CAGIS) is a fun and exciting science club for girls aged 7-16.
You may have read in YES-Mag about many of the fun science activities our
different chapters have been up to. Unfortunately, not all of you could
participate in CAGIS activities because you don't live close to one of
our 13 chapters. Now, with help from your teacher or parent, you can
set up your own CAGIS chapter! Thanks to a donation from Shell Canada, Nikki Wright, of Fletcher Wright and Associates
(they run the CAGIS National office)
have developed The CAGIS Chapter Kit for us.
The CAGIS chapter kit is easy to use and
explains everything you need to know to set up a CAGIS chapter in your
neighbourhood. The chapter kit tells you exactly what CAGIS is and the
different types of chapters you can start. It also has lots of ideas for
fun science activities, samples of event letters and flyers, and
explanations of finances and communication. So if you want to
participate in CAGIS, but don't live close to a chapter, start your own!
Gather a group of friends and parents, then contact us at CAGIS to
receive your copy of the CAGIS chapter kit. Send us an email at
cagis@uwo.ca, or contact us via snail mail:
