Published CANTUS Inventories and Related Articles

Some CANTUS indices have been published in book form. Although it is acknowledged that the most versatile format of these data are in their electronic form on the website or on a researcher's PC, the published versions of these inventories contain often lengthy palaeographic and/or historically-informative introductions. Several more volumes have been proposed in this series.
Each book includes an introduction that describes the manuscript and certain features of the chants it contains. The publisher of the series is The Institute of Mediaeval Music, 1270 Lampman Crescent, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K2C 1P8; the volume containing the Sarum antiphons was published by the Plainsong and Mediaeval Music Society (London) and the Bamberg index is available from the project founder, Ruth Steiner.
