Fatima worked in the NMR facility during the 2009 school year as a Western work study student. During this time, Fatima contributed much to the NMR facility. She worked on new 1D and 2D training notes, developed spreadsheets to track spectrometer calibration results, plus she performed spectrometer calibrations and cryogen fills.

Nadine Merkley
NMR Instrument Specialist (2007-2009)

Nadine worked in the NMR facility for 3 years, ending in 2009. Nadine brought her many years of NMR experience working under the direction of Prof. Gary Shaw to the NMR facility. She took care of the day to day operations of the facility, training, service samples and hands-on help with the students.

Zhimin (Steven) Yan
Interim NMR Manager (2008)

Steven was the interim manager of the NMR facility, taking over for Chris Kirby in early 2008, and keeping the seat warm until Mathew Willans began in the fall of that year. During his time, Steven managed the facility during a very hectic time in which the spectrometers were moved from the basement of the Chemistry building to the ground floor of the new Materials Science Addition.
