Information about the Final Exam

The Final Exam for the course will take place on Wednesday, 21st April, 2010, at 9:00 a.m. in the Health Sciences Centre (Labatt Building, not far from Talbot), Room 236. It will be of two hours duration. (The Registrar’s website info. on final exams says that the last person in the alphabet (by surname) in this class will write in a different room; this is to be ignored, since several people will be writing in the Student Centre and there will, accordingly, be room for everyone else in the above-mentioned room in the Labatt Building.)

The format will be similar to that of the Mid-term, with the addition of True/False and Multiple Choice questions; also, the “identifications” etc. question and the short essay will be worth more marks. So, there will be five questions:

Question  1:  True/False:  12 items;  12marks.

Question  2:  Multiple Choice:  8 items;  8 marks.

Question  3:  Text extracts (“gobbets”) Do 3 out of 6 @ 10 marks each: 30 marks.

Question  4:  “Identifications”.  Do 5 out of 10 @ 3 marks each:  15 marks.

Question  5:  Short Essay.  Do 1 out of 3 topics: 15 marks.

All questions will be based on material covered since the Mid-term test (although students may wish to use information from the whole course in dealing with the essay topics in Question 5; but that is a purely personal decision.)

Please read this material over carefully; and ask questions about it, if any, in class, so that everyone can hear the answers.
