PC-Cillin Pattern File Updates

For those of you who have installed PC-Cillin on your laptops as your virus-scanning software, it is important to make sure that you always have the most current Pattern File running on your machine. Updated versions can come out fairly regularly as new viruses develop.

CHECK YOUR CURRENT PATTERN FILE

Open PC-Cillin 2000
On the main menu, click Help -- About. The "About PC-Cillin" dialog box appears with your pattern file version.

UPDATE YOUR PATTERN FILE

Go to the ITS site http://security.uwo.ca/antivirus/download.html
latest pattern file is listed at the top of the page in RED followed by a table of downloadable files.
Scroll down in the table to PC-Cillin
Download the .exe file (for example Pattern 635.exe) to your hard-drive
Find the file on your laptop computer and double-click on it
Direct the files to go to the same directory where you have installed PC-Cillin
Restart your computer
Re-check the file pattern version to make sure you are now running the most current one.
