We are often looking for bright, motivated, responsible students to work on my research team. There are both volunteer and paid positions available .

BENEFITS OF JOINING
- You gain hand-on experience with various aspects of nursing research
- Research experience may increase likelihood of acceptance into graduate programs
- Research experience is very important when applying to many types of graduate schools
- You may be able to request a letter of recommendation

INVOLVEMENT IN RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP
Typically, the work assigned to a research assistant depends on his or her research experience and skill set. New research assistants normally will start off doing the easier tasks, and move up to the more challenging (and more rewarding) work as they learn more and have proven themselves to be dependable.
- Conducting literature searches
- Assisting in designing studies and refining materials
- Conducting interviews and surveys
- Data entry and transcribing
- Coding open-ended or interview data
- Data analysis
- Assistance in preparation of conference presentations and publications
- Web-page maintenance
