My teaching interests are in two main areas: 1) education of emerging professionals in health information practices, including health information sciences and health science librarianship, and 2) research methods, including qualitative, quantitative and mixed approaches. Click here for sample course descriptions, and for here for a description of our new Joint Graduate Program in Health Information Science (with the UWO Faculty of Health Sciences), which launched in Fall 2011 and includes Masters and PhD degrees. I am deeply committed to supervision of graduate students conducting research and am privileged to work with a number of trainees who are engaged in multi-disciplinary research involving knowledge translation, health decision-making, the use of information and communication technologies in patient education and information seeking, etc. I was honoured to receive, in 2011, the Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching from Western's Faculty of Information & Media Studies. |
