Scheduled
Transfer
Definition:
Documents can be transferred to the archives on a
regular basis according to a predetermined records schedule. Such records often
come from the archives' parent body, be it a government or a corporation. These
transfers are a product of a records management program in which records have
been analyzed, classified, and scheduled. Unwanted records are destroyed when
their business needs are ended; valuable records that reflect the important
functions and corporate memory of the entity are sent to the archives.
