Primary Sources
one created by a witness to or the first recorder of an event, often a participant. Usually (though not always) refers to unpublished materials.
Secondary Sources
The product of primary sources. In essence, the literature that is the result of archival research, often published as papers, texts and syntheses aimed at a less specialized audience.
