Facilities
My laboratory is located in the Western Sciences Center at the University of Western Ontario. The Western Sciences Center on the right is a modern facility opened in 1991.
The laboratory is on the third floor of the Western Science Center in room 361
We have facilities for raising Drosophila melanogaster, equipment for performing most techniques in Molecular Biology, and an advanced microscope and image analysis system for analysis of the phenotype and expression of the various genes that we study.
The laboratory shares the third floor with five other laboratories, all of which constitute the molecular genetics unit. This unit consists of 6 groups that share a common facility. Graduate students and Postdoctoral fellows have access to common autoclaves, bacterial growth chambers, spectrophotometers, gel documentation equipment, darkrooms, freezers, tissue culture rooms, microscopes and centrifuges.
