Swallows

Species of swallows can be found almost everywhere except for polar regions and larger deserts. You may hear ornithologists referring to the long-tailed birds of this species as 'Swallows' while calling the short-tailed ones 'Martins'. The Barn Swallow and Bank Swallow are the most widespread. Most swallows in North America will migrate to the South in the winter where they can still eat insects. They are outstanding fliers as seen through their spectacular maneauvers when catching flying insects. I personally think that Swallows are one of the more majestic looking birds that have a beauty very unique to their species.
