Waterfowl

Waterfowl include geese, swans, and ducks, which are closely related to game birds. After breeding, most species are unable to fly for several weeks because they molt all their flight feathers at the same time. Geese are the most terrestrial of waterfowl birds, and geese and swans are monogamous, meaning that will choose one mate for life. Most Geese are migratory birds that fly south for the winter and they are highly social birds. Swans are the largest of the waterfowl birds and ducks are the most varied with many species, often grouped rather loosely by their habits of feeding, whether diving deep underwater (like mergansers and eiders) or feeding on the surface of shallow water (like wigeons, teals and the Mallard).
