Definition:
The inherent worth of a document based upon factors such as age, content, usage, circumstances of creation, signature, or attached seals.
Example:
- Whatever captures the essential nature of the creator is of great value. These can be icons or symbols, or, in the case of the HBC Archives, the Great Charter of 1670 which holds the signature of Charles II.
