"Edward P. Henderson and the Development of Meteoritics at the Smithsonian Institution, 1929-1965," Meteoritics and Planetary Science.

I am writing a book-length monograph with Dr. Roy S. Clarke, Jr., the Curator Emeritus of Meteorites at the Smithsonian Institution, provisionally entitled Aspects of the Development of Meteoritics at the Smithsonian Institution: The First 135 Years, 1846-1981.

Congresses and Symposia:

"The Changing Face of South American Astronomy: Observatories and Research in Peru and Chile, 1850-1965," Congreso Internacional "Ciencia, descubrimiento y mundo colonial," held in Madrid, Spain in June, 1991. I was invited by the North American organizers of this Congress, commemorating the quincentennial of Columbus' discovery of the Americas, to organize a session centered on my research and to deliver a paper in it. I invited scholars from Harvard University, Ohio State University, University of Chile, and University of Valencia to join me as presenters in my session.

"Henry Draper Memorial Centennial Symposium," held at U.W.O. in October, 1985. I organized this international symposium, and presided over it. I invited scholars from Yale University, University of Michigan, and University of Toronto to deliver papers in this symposium, which was attended by about forty astronomers from the U.S. and Canada.
