I am interested in
understanding the mechanisms/processes through which
humans come to display such wide variation in morphology.
My MA research will focus on identifying neutral
morphological variation in human long bones, aiming to
improve our ability to use these elements to interpret
behaviour in the past by differentiating between adaptive
and neutral variation. My previous research experience
largely consists of my honours research at UVic where I
examined ontogenetic vs activity-related shape variation
in the proximal femoral metaphysis of archaeological
forgers populations using 3D Geometric Morphometric and
Cross-Sectional Geometric approaches. Additionally I have
been involved in the excavation and archeological analysis
of Ancient Eleon (Eastern Boeotia Archaeological Project,
Greece).
Keywords: morphology,
phenotypic diversity, the evolution of human variation,
skeletal biology
