I'm not accepting new graduate students for 2024 or 2025. Please feel free to contact Dr. Bertram, Dr. Wild or Dr. Zou if you're thinking about
graduate work, applying mathematical and computational techniques
to some interesting biological problems. If you're accepted into our
program, you'll receive financial support.
A lot of people come to mathematical biology by a circuitous route --
after degrees in pure math, engineering, physics etc. Don't be put
off if you're interested in biological questions but haven't taken
a biology course in a long time. You'll have some reading to do in your
first year, but you can pick up what you need.
The research headings and papers in my
publication list might give you some ideas for possible
research topics.

graduate work in Applied Math at Western,
