Reviews that Noam Chomsky might like

Occasionally a movie appears which challenges conventional ways of thinking about the world. Usually it loses money.  It is far more common for Hollywood films to tell stories that "manufacture the consent" of the American public by promoting ways of looking at the world that suit the interests of privileged groups in the United States and in countries closely allied to the U.S. As Noam Chomsky has said in another context, in more honest times these films would be identified for what they are, propaganda.  The reviews listed below, more so than the others at this site,  were  written with this perspective in mind.
