Adjusted Cash Balance
We have now recorded all of the items that we know about that the bank did not know. After adding and subtracting all of the adjustments, the adjusted cash balance is $2,894.71. This is the true amount of cash we have available to us. As you can see on the completed bank reconciliation statement (next page), the adjusted cash balance from the bank's records is equal to the adjusted cash balance we calculated earlier from our records. Since these two are equal, we can be confident that we have reconciled the accounts correctly.
