The Family of #3 James Short (continued)

4. Thomas Short, 1802-1872 can be found at Cashel in Griffith's Valuation of 1860. It has not positively been established that Thomas was the son of #3 James. Thomas Montgomery of Belfast, in a letter of 1972 to Samuel Montgomery in Illinois wrote:
"Anne Short was possibly a sister of Thomas Short, of the Established Church of Clontibret, who on 19 Mar 1829, with the consent of Archdeacon Russell, was married at First Clontibret Presbyterian Church to Margaret Irwin of Cashel in the presence of William Irwin, Robert Short and John Farquhar Jr. (or Forker)".
It appears the Presbyterian church register did not record the father's name in the marriage record.
The witness Robert Short, marriage below, was the son of John Short of Drumneal. Sarah Short can be found in Drumneal in Griffith's Valuation. The relationship of Robert Short to the above Thomas Short has not been established. There appear to be other Shorts in Drumneal. See "Unplaced Shorts" Clontibret First Presbyterian Church.
