Lena Palaniyappan BA (Psych) MBBS, PhD.

Dr. Lena Palaniyappan is an Associate Professor at the Departments of Psychiatry, Neuroscience and Medical Biophysics at the University of Western Ontario, Director of the Translational Systems Neuroscience research program in Early Intervention (TransPEPP). He completed his M.D. at Stanley Medical College, Chennai, India followed by specialization in Psychiatry at Nottingham and Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the UK. Following a Masters in Clinical Psychiatry, he completed his PhD in Translational Neuroimaging at the University of Nottingham. He was supported by the UK NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship (Affective Disorders, Newcastle), and later by the Wellcome Trust Research Training Fellowship (Psychotic Disorders, Nottingham).

 

Clinical Interests

 

Dr. Palaniyappan is the director of the Prevention and Early Intervention Program in Psychosis (PEPP), and is clinically active as an attending psychiatrist at the Victoria Hospital, London Health Science Centre. He specializes in treating psychotic disorders and refractory depression.
