Graduate students of any discipline are invited to submit papers on any topic in the philosophy of logic, mathematics or physics.
Papers should be no longer than 4000 words. Presentations will be limited to 25 minutes and will be followed by a 10-minute commentary and a 15-minute question period.
Papers submitted will be considered for the Second Annual Clifton Memorial Book Prize, to be awarded to the best essay in the philosophy of physics among those submitted. The contest will be adjudicated by philosophy of science faculty at Western.
Please submit papers by email (as Word, Works or pdf attachments) by 1 March, 2004. They should be prepared for blind review, and should be accompanied by an abstract (no longer than 300 words), as well as a cover sheet containing the author's name, institutional affiliation, title of the paper, mailing and e-mail addresses, and telephone number(s).
The program committee expects to make its decisions by 1 April, 2004 and should have funding available to cover part of the speakers' expenses. We will endeavor to make accommodations available to visiting graduate students.
