Besides maintaining my WWW Bagpipe Index, I of course also have a more-or-less real job.

• I now play with the Ann Arbor Highlanders Pipes and Drums.
• I am taking tuition in piobaireachd and light music from Iain Macey.
• In January 1998 I handed over the Pipe Majorship of the Badger Pipes and Drums, UW-Madison. They gave me a very nice certificate.
• I've written a few pipe tunes.
• PipeLime is Windows 95 program which acts as a GHB-friendly notation input tool for Lime. Written by me!
• If I had a wealthy patron (hint, hint) I'd spend a lot of time studying the acoustics of the bagpipes and the use of expressive timing in GHB music. Here's what I've got so far:
  • I did some analysis of gracenote timing.
  • Hear the hidden pitches in the sound of the bass drone.
  • Some notes on the scale of the GHB chanter.
  • Some notes on tuning the GHB chanter using a standard chromatic tuner.
