Laura Melnyk Gribble, BA (McMaster), PhD (McGill) ![]() I'm the Department Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at King's University College at Western University. I also serve as the Vice-Chair of the King's University College Faculty Association. I'm involved in university governance at several levels: I'm member of the King's Academic Council and two of Academic's committees, and I'm a senator on the Western University Senate, and one of Senate's academic subcommittees. I've proudly served in several additional leadership roles at King's:
My research expertise is in forensic psychology, with a focus on children's memory and forensic interviewing. Much of my work examines interviewing techniques to facilitate children's memory, and developmental changes in face recognition and lineup performance. Recent work includes research on criminal responsibility and mock juror decision-making. My work is published in academic journals such as Applied Cognitive Psychology, Law & Human Behavior, Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, and Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied. I have served as an expert witness and consultant in several Canadian legal cases. I've given talks for the London Police Services and the London-Middlesex Children's Aid Society on interviewing children.
