Laura Melnyk Gribble, BA (McMaster), PhD (McGill) lmg

I'm the Associate Academic Dean (Interim) at
King's University College at Western University. I hold the rank of Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology.
 
I've proudly served in several additional leadership roles at King's:
  • Chair, Department of Psychology (2023-26)
  • Vice-Chair, King's University College Faculty Association (2025-26)
  • Associate Academic Dean (2019-2022) 
  • Vice-Principal & Academic Dean (Acting; Summer 2020) 
  • Chair, Department of Interdisciplinary Programs (Acting; Winter 2021)
  • Chair, Department of Psychology (2017-2019)
I've received several teaching awards, including the King's University College Award of Excellence in Teaching and the Western University Award of Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching.

My research expertise is in forensic psychology, with a focus on children's memory and forensic interviewing. Much of my work examines i
nterviewing techniques to facilitate children's memory, and developmental changes in face recognition and lineup performance. Recent work includes research on criminal responsibility and mock juror decision-making.

My work is published in academic journals such as Applied Cognitive Psychology, Law & Human Behavior, Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, and Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied. Here is more information about my research program and here's my Google Scholar profile.

I'm a member of the International Investigative Interviewing Research Group and the American Psychology-Law Society.

I'm pleased to share my expertise with the community. I have served
as an expert witness and consultant in several Canadian legal cases. I've given talks for the London Police Services and the London-Middlesex Children's Aid Society on interviewing children. My appearances in the media include interviews with CBC Radio, CIXX-FM, Maclean's, and the Globe & Mail.
