May 2008: Congratulations to Cheng Lu pictured above who successfully defended his Ph. D. thesis entitled: "Material Synthesis and Characterization for Photonics Applications". Cheng is doing a joint post-doc here at Western with the Lipson group and Professor R. J. Dwayne Miller at the University of Toronto.
April 2008: Congratulations to Yun Yang pictured above who successfully defended her M.Sc. thesis entitled: "The synthesis of new polymers for use in interference lithography". Yun was co-supervised by Professor Kim Baines, and is currently working for Professor Jesse Zhu in Chemical Engineering.
April 2008: Rob Lipson and Marty Scheiring are awarded The President’s Occupational Health & Safety Recognition Award for 2008.
April 2008: Congratulations to Shaun Leong for his successful completion of his C490 thesis entitled: "Synthesis and Characterization of Vanadium Oxide Nanowires and Nanobelts". He was jointly supervised by Professor Zhifeng Ding. Shaun is circled in the 490 class photo below.
