Video Games

If you have taken a look at the rest of my site it should be no surprise to you that I have a passion for video games. I have been playing games just about as long as I can remember (despite my very patient parents’ attempts to keep me from spending all of my time playing them). Burned into my memory is the experience of saving up my allowance from doing chores for a couple of years to buy my first major video game console. Saving took so long (for a young child that is) that when I started saving I had intended to buy a Super Nintendo. When I finally had enough money the only thing that I could purchase was a Nintendo 64 (which I still own and use occasionally).

After a good number of years enjoying my N64 my family finally upgraded to a Windows based system that was capable of playing games (no more DoS!). Even though my PC gaming experience started using a dialup modem to play games with my friends, I never looked back. Today I would go so far as to say that if I am literate in any form of media that it is likely video games. Although my comprehensive knowledge of the medium has declined somewhat as of late (as a result of a lot less time to play in conjunction with an increase in the number of games being released) it is likely still fair to say that if there is a major game that can be played on a PC I am apt to know something about it.
