Case Law

CanLII: Canadian Legal Information Institute

Can be found: at their website here.

CanLII is far the most comprehensive online resource for finding Canadian case law for the post-2001 period. It includes legal decisions from the Supreme Court, federal courts, as well as the courts in all the provinces and territories.

While the builk of the main CanLII website is devoted to case law, you can also find a great deal of secondary research and legal analysis on its Commentary portal as well.

Both portals have very effective keyword searching, but CanLII offers their own research guide with helpful video tutorials and handouts if you'd like to dive deeper.
