FALL ‘06

 

Statistics for Science SS222a Section 003.  An introductory course in the application of statistical methods, intended for honors students in departments other than Statistical and Actuarial Sciences, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, or students in the Faculty of Engineering. Topics include sampling, confidence intervals, analysis of variance, regression and correlation.  Course website and outline are available here.

 

Spatial Statistics in Forestry SS734a (co-taught with Reg Kulperger). A graduate course in spatial and geostatistics covering techniques such as Kriging, point-process models, and spatial scan statistics with emphasis on forestry applications.  Course website and outline are available here.

 

 

SPRING ‘07

 

Environmental Biology Bio285b.  Basic principles of environmental biology, human ecology, ecosystem structure and function. Human population growth and its impact on soil, water, energy, agriculture and natural populations of plants and animals. Environmental problems created by resource exploitation and possible solutions. Check back for the course website and outline as the term approaches.
