I am an undergraduate student in Biology at Western and I am working on my fourth year Honours Thesis project in the Sinclair Lab. I am excited to have found the Sinclair lab while looking for opportunities to research physiology during my undergraduate career. I will be studying the main excretory organ in insects called the Malpighian tubules and their role in regulating ion balance during freezing and recovery. I am investigating whether the Malpighian tubules of the spring field cricket, Gryllus veletis, change with freeze tolerance. I'm excited to learn more about insect physiology alongside such great lab members!
