Hello everyone! My name is Sylvia Chong and I am currently a fourth year student at Western finishing up my undergraduate degree in Biology. Due to my interests in thermal physiology, the Sinclair Insect Low Temperature Biology lab really caught my attention. This year, I will be working on my honours thesis project with the help of Dr. Sinclair and the amazing people in the Sinclair lab. My research objectives are to study freeze tolerance using Gryllus veletis as a model species and more specifically to compare freeze tolerance parameters in male and female spring field crickets. I’m excited to see where my research will take me in the future!
