Malagasy database

The Malagasy database began in the 1980's, as part of a research project directed by Lisa Travis at McGill University. She collected data from Malagasy (and other languages) and stored them in a database program.

Following the growing interest in Malagasy within the linguistics community, it was suggested that an online database would help linguists share Malagasy data. With the creation of the Theoretical and Applied Linguistics Laboratory at the University of Western Ontario, Ileana Paul realized that Western would be the ideal home for this database.

The ultimate goal is to allow access to this resource via the Internet, but to limit the adding of new data to linguists associated with the project. To view the list of researchers currently involved with the Malagasy database project, please click here.

Any linguist interested in participating can contact Dr. Paul.
