At^Lohsa

At^Lohsa Native Family Healing Services, Inc. can be found at 343 Richmond Street, suite 109.  The front door is difficult to find, but the back door is the one that's most used by the clients.  The building has a large room that is used as a social area and also works as a dining room.  The building is well loved by the staff, volunteers and clients alike. Everyone who enters the door can be assured that they will be treated like a member of the family.

This organisation primarily serves the aboriginal community, but they do not turn anyone in need away.  The city provides financial support for 40 meals to be dished out per day; however, At^Lohsa feeds more than 100 people each day.  Since the closure of one of the churches who had previously provided hot meals, At^Lohsa has had more mouths to feed.

At^Lohsa is an organisation that first opened its doors in 1980 and incorporated in 1989.  Twenty-one years ago, this organisation was $40,000 in debt, but today, this organisation has worked tirelessly to triple the services that this agency can provide.  They receive 80% of their funding through the government and are expected to raise 20% through fundraising ventures.

At^Lohsa is an amazing organisation that works toward harm reduction by offering the following services:

At^Lohsa has recently taken possession of 2 facilities which will provide 24 affordable housing units for aboriginal youth and victims of violence.
