The London Coffee House
The London Coffee House is located at 538 Dundas Street, on the corner of Dundas and William. This is a drop in centre, which enables adults with limited social or financial resources, an opportunity to relax and socialise in a quiet and safe place. Many of the clients that visit the coffee house have mental health issues. While the premise for this establishment sounds insignificant, the opportunity for social interaction for these clients is extremely important.
This place is open every day, providing free coffee, tea, juice and a light snack to anyone popping in. While there, the clients can play cards, pool, board games or other social activities.
The Salvation Army stops by one Thursday a month with food packages for the clients to take home with them. Once a month, the staff put on a birthday party for anyone who has had a birthday that month – this is something that is very popular with the clients.
I have always enjoyed my time when I've been there and wouldn't hesitate going back again. The Coffee House is a warm and friendly place to visit.
