Hello! My name is Claire, and I’m the newest member of the Sinclair team. After a number of wonderful experiences working with dragonflies during the summer of 2018, I realized that insects are cool – super cool. Thus began my venture into the Sinclair Low Temperature Biology lab. While I started off as a hands-on volunteer, I quickly became curious to know more about the projects I was involved with and felt inspired to undertake a few projects of my own. Currently, I’m using my USRA to dive deep into the world of cricket biology and conjure up funky summer experiments. I look forward to my honors thesis project in the coming academic year, in which I plan to explore the role of the mitochondria during acclimation to cold temperatures in the freeze-tolerant spring field cricket. Following my fourth year, I hope to pursue a graduate degree in Biology, and I can’t wait to discover all the exciting places my career as a biology student will take me!
