Boys' & Girls' Club of London

Who doesn’t remember the ball room from the Boys’ & Girls’ Club?  Amongst the new parts of the building, you can still find some of the old, tried and true places.  The ball room is still one of the more popular places that the kids can go, but the kids also enjoy the WIIs, PlayStations, teen rooms, aquaplex, and so much more.  The Boys’ and Girls’ Club also provides educational and social support with programs like LEAP (Learning, Earning and Parenting), M.A.P. (My Action Plan), KIDS (Kids in Difficult Situations), Home Alone, Super Skills, and a great deal more.  Some of their academic programs include scholarships to students who have successfully completed their program.

The Boys’ & Girls’ Club also has a supper club that is run from Monday through Friday, with hot nutritious meals served for $1.00; however, no one is turned away if they cannot pay.  They also have cooking classes for kids on Saturday mornings, called Munch (formerly called Fruit Hoops).

While, I can wax the poetic about the children’s programs, they also have numerous seniors’ programs.  During the day, the seniors have free reign of the building (7:30am – 3:00pm).  The Boys’ & Girls’ Club provides a social environment, that includes shuffleboard, woodcarving, tai chi, volleyball and a limitless variety of other activities.

Membership fees are:

Annual membership for children:  $15.00 - $140.00 (based upon income)
Annual membership for seniors:  $70.00
Annual membership for families:  $200.00 (2 adults plus children/household)
