Who runs Cryptologypedia?

Cryptologypedia is run by Lia Whalen an MLIS student currently studying out of the University of Western Ontario. This blog/encyclopedia was built originally for a web design course however, since the initial launch Lia has continued to update the site. The majority of stories on this website are researched and written by Lia, which is why the website is always growing and changing. Stories that are not personally written by Lia are credited to the original author. Each story that is sent in is vetted and verified by Lia before posting and cross referenced with articles from academic journals and trusted websites. Those interested in sending in their own stories of crypitds and curiosities can follow can find information on our contact page.

What makes Cryptologypedia Trustworthy?

Every article that is published to Cryptologypedia is verfied for truthfullness. This includes the cryptid sightings page, which features stories sent in from readers. To verify that these stories are true those who have written in are interviewed, not only does this confirm allow the accuracy of the written story, but gives details that help in the further research process. Each story is verified and further explained through the use of scientific articles from respected publishers like ebsco, national geographic, and other encyclopedias.
