Taking work oppertunity from librarians

The implementation of ChatGPT in libraries may mean taking away job opportunities for librarians. While important managerial occupations will continue to exist, the nature of these occupations will change.

Entry-level jobs may disappear as their jobs become fully mechanized. If ChatGPT can easily take on these simple communication and answering tasks, then a position like front-desk will become very contradictory. Originally, the job of these librarians is to communicate with readers and solve their problems about facilities and collections. If the simple part is replaced by GPT, then the remaining work content of these positions can only solve more difficult problems, such as finding Detailed references. This means that librarians who do not have this high-precision operational ability will lose their jobs, and at the same time, it raises the threshold for these positions and discourages those who are otherwise qualified.
