Banana cream tiramisu

Ingredients

  • 9- by 5-inch (2 L) loaf pan, lined with waxed paper
  • 12 giant ladyfinger biscuits (about 5 oz/ 150 g) 
  • 3 tablespoons of pure maple syrup, divided (45 mL)
  • 1 cup of lower-fat non-dairy whipped topping (250 mL)
  • 1 cup of prepared fat-free chocolate pudding, made with 1% milk (250 mL)
  • 1 large banana 
  • 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts (50 mL) 

Alternative Suggestions

  • Instead of using maple syrup, you may use a low-fat chocolate syrup.

Instructions

Banana cream tiramisu
  1. In a loaf pan, arrange 6 ladyfingers in a single layer across the bottom.
  2. Drizzle evenly with two tablespoons of maple syrup.
  3. In a medium bowl, fold the whipped topping into the chocolate pudding.
  4. Slice 2/3 of the banana and arrange in a single layer over the ladyfingers.
  5. Spoon ½ of the pudding mixture over the banana and spread evenly.
  6. The remaining banana can be wrapped and set aside.
  7. The remaining 6 ladyfingers can be arranged in a single layer over the pudding.
  8. Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of maple syrup over the ladyfingers.
  9. The rest of the pudding mixture can be piped on the ladyfingers.
  10. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours.
  11. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
