As briefly mentioned in Forging, there are five types of weapons in Genshin Impact; bows, catalysts, swords, polearms and claymores. Unfortunately, each character can only use one type of weapon. For example, Noelle uses claymores – and therefore cannot be equipped with a catalyst.

Players can obtain weapons through a myriad of ways such as;

1. Using the Wish, Weapon, and standard Wish Event Banners

Players can use Primogems purchase Intertwined Fates or Acquaine Fates to wish on Banners!

By using wishes, players can receive either the 4 or 5 star character or weapon featured on the banner. When players make a with - they also recieve smaller rewards such as Masterless Stardust which can be used to shop at Paimon’s Bargains.

2. Crafting four-star weapons using Billets

Billets allow players to create their own 4 star weapons. There are numerous weapons that you can create – but there are only a few that are actually worth crafting. Here are just some of the best ones;

  • The Prototype Starglitter is a polearm weapon that has a max base ATK of 510 with an energy recharge of 45.9%. Characters can use it to increase their normal and charged attack damage by 8% for up to 12 seconds after they’ve used their Elemental Skill.

  • The Katsuragikiri Nagamasa is a claymore type weapon that has a max base ATK of 510 with an energy recharge of 45.9%. It also gives characters an elemental damage increase of 6%.

  • The Amenoma Kageuchi is a sword type weapon that can inflict a lot of damage. It has a max base ATK of 454 and it increases ATK by 55.1%. It also increases characters energy bursts.

    • 3. Paimon’s Bargains

    The Starglitter Exchange is a shop in Genshin Impact that allows players to purchase selected weapons, Character and Common Ascension Materials, and characters for Masterless Starglitter (which players receive when they make Wishes).

    4. Purchasing Battle Pass

    Players can spend money on buying the Gnostic Hymn battle pass and can pick one 4-star weapon in the Gnostic Hymn series.

    5. Souvenir Shops

    Players can also receive billets from shops located in Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma and Sumeru.
